Baltic Year
Baltic Year is a strategic and educational board game that brings the ancient Baltic Year Cycle and its eight celebrations to life through beautifully designed cards. Each holiday features authentic symbols verified by folklore experts. While playing, you’ll uncover centuries-old wisdom and enjoy a fast, engaging strategy game for the whole family.
How to Play
Game Objective:
Collect the fewest points OR win instantly by collecting:
- 4 tokens of any symbol, OR
- 3 tokens that are adjacent in the Baltic Year Cycle
Setup:
- Each player receives 7 cards
- Remaining cards form a draw pile; flip one to start the discard pile
- Place the 8 symbol tokens in the center
Gameplay:
On your turn:
Discard a card or a valid combination (same symbol sequence OR same number with different symbols)
Draw one card (from draw or discard pile)
When you play a sequence of the same symbol, you gain the matching token
Special Cards:
- Magic Card (value 0): replaces any number or symbol
- Symbol Tokens: each reduces your score by –7, and certain combinations grant immediate victory
End of Round:
- If you have 7 or fewer points, call “STOP”
- Others take one last turn
- Count remaining points in hand; subtract token bonuses
End of Game:
- Play continues until someone reaches 30+ points
- Winner = the player with the fewest points
- OR instant win by collecting 4 tokens or 3 consecutive tokens
